Privacy Policy

Ripply (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a habit tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch, published by VektraMind: every habit is water you watch fill up, one day at a time. This policy explains what the app handles, where it is kept and what choices you have. The short version: Ripply has no account, no server of ours, no analytics and no advertising. What you enter stays on your devices and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud.

1. What Ripply stores

  • Your habits: up to five, each with its name and its goal.
  • Your days: the days you mark done, a short note if you add one, and the days you cover with a freeze.
  • Your settings: the name you entered when you set up the app, your theme and app icon, and your reminder time.

All of this is stored on your device with Apple’s SwiftData framework. We have no access to it: Ripply has no server that your data could pass through, and nothing you enter is ever sent to us.

2. iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, your habits, days and settings sync across your own devices through your private iCloud database (Apple’s CloudKit), tied to your Apple Account. Sync is handled entirely by Apple and is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. Only you can access this data; we cannot see it, and it is never shared with anyone else. You can turn it off at any time in your iPhone’s Settings, under your name, then iCloud.

3. Apple Watch, widgets and controls

The Apple Watch app receives your habits from your iPhone directly, through Apple’s WatchConnectivity between your iPhone and your paired watch. The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, the watch complications and the Control Center control read the same data on the device, through an App Group (the secure iOS mechanism that lets an app share data with its own widgets). Marking a day done from any of them is saved on your devices in the same way. None of this leaves your devices except through iCloud sync, as described above.

4. Siri and Shortcuts

You can ask Siri to mark your habit done or to tell you your streak, and use the same actions in the Shortcuts app. Your voice request is processed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy; Ripply only receives the action itself, never your voice.

5. Motion sensors

While the water is on screen, Ripply reads your iPhone’s motion sensors so the water stays level and ripples when you tilt the phone. The readings are used in the moment to move the water and are never stored or sent anywhere. Ripply stops reading them as soon as the water is off screen.

6. Thought of the Day

Ripply shows a short “Thought of the Day” related to your habit. It comes from a fixed library bundled inside the app, in your language, and is matched to your habit’s name entirely on your device. Choosing a thought never sends your habit name, or anything else, to any server; the feature works fully offline.

7. Reminders

With your permission, Ripply sends a daily reminder at the time you choose. Reminders are scheduled and delivered on your device; their text can include your name and your habit, and it never leaves your device. You can change the time or turn reminders off in Ripply’s settings, or in your iPhone’s notification settings.

8. Sharing

When you tap Share My Progress or Share with Friends, Ripply opens the standard iOS share sheet with a picture of your progress or a short message. What you share goes only where you choose to send it, under the terms of that app or service. Nothing is shared without your tap, and we receive nothing.

9. Purchases and ratings

Ripply is a paid app sold through the App Store, with no in-app purchases. Apple processes your payment, and we never see your payment details. Ripply may occasionally show Apple’s standard prompt asking for an App Store rating; that prompt and your answer are handled by Apple.

10. Analytics, advertising and tracking

Ripply contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, shows no ads and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us crash reports and aggregated statistics, such as how often the app is used; these do not identify you.

11. This website

The links to this policy, the Terms of Use and Support in the app open vektramind.com in your browser. The website does not use cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. To see how the site is used, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics: for each page view it records the page, the site you came from, your country, your type of device and browser, and how fast the page loaded. It uses no cookies or local storage, does not fingerprint you by your IP address or browser, and we only ever see totals, never an individual visitor.

12. Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays until you delete it. In Ripply’s settings, open a habit: Delete Habit removes it and its whole history on all your devices (the last habit can only be started over), and Start a New Habit clears its progress and streak. Deleting the app removes everything on that device. To remove the copy in iCloud, open your iPhone’s Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage, choose Ripply and delete its data.

13. Children

Ripply is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — in fact, as described above, we do not collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, let us know and we will delete it promptly.

14. Changes to this policy

If what Ripply does with your data changes, we will update this policy before the app does, and the “Last updated” date at the top will change.

15. Contact

If you have any questions about this policy, write to us at support@vektramind.com. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.
